“Blockbusters – Who Needs Them? We Do!” - Cincinnati Event

Why do so many critics believe that the blockbuster film can't possibly provide "the experience of surrender" that more "serious" cinema offers? Can big-budget Hollywood movies still demand our full attention? Join speakers John Heyda and David McAvoy, Film Studies instructors at Miami Middletown, for a tour through the history of the cinematic blockbuster with clips from Jaws to Marvel's The Avengers, from Star Wars to the Harry Potter movies, from Toy Story to Shrek, and beyond.
