MELISSA ETHERIDGE & BLONDIE - Cincinnati Event
July 01, 2015 - Huber Heights
Grammy winner Melissa Etheridge and
punk rock pioneers Blondie will co-headline a night full of
hits this summer at Rose Music Center on July 1. Melissa Etheridge counts
two Grammy Awards and 17 nominations, an Academy Award and a star on the
Hollywood Boulevard Walk of Fame, among her many other accolades. Her
self-titled debut album became an underground hit after its 1988 release,
peaking at 22 on the Billboard 200 charts with its lead single "Bring Me Some
Water" garnering Etheridge her first Grammy nomination. Etheridge's
most recent album, "This is M.E." features her signature mixture of
confessional lyrics, pop-based folk-rock, and raspy smoky vocals.
For the last four decades, Blondie has
become and still remains a true national treasure - a punk band from New York
City whose influence both shaped and continues to form the worlds of music,
fashion and art. Since founding the band in 1974, Blondie front-woman
Debbie Harry and guitarist Chris Stein have released several hit singles
including "Call Me," "Atomic" and "Heart of Glass." With the addition of Clem
Burke (drums), Leigh Foxx (bass), Matt Katz-Bohen (keyboards, piano) and Tommy
Kessler (guitar), the group has toured and performed throughout the
world. Blondie was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of
Fame in 2006 and has sold over 50 million records worldwide, including recently
released two-disc album "Blondie 4(0) Ever," featuring a greatest hits album
and the brand new "Ghosts Of Download" to celebrate the band's 40th anniversary.
